The Goodbye I Never Said

There are goodbyes that happen in a moment.

A door closes.

A conversation ends.

A person walks away.

But some goodbyes never happen at all

They stay somewhere between what was

and what could have been.

For a long time, I thought goodbye belonged only to endings.
